The 5Points Film Festival returns at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Howelsen Hill for its second late-summer stop in Steamboat Springs.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a series of adventure-focused short films beginning at dark and running until 10 p.m. Admission in $5 and free for children under 12 years old.

Steamboat’s one of 10 stops in the inaugural 5Points Film On the Road series, and the event will feature short films, including Carbondale-based Honey Stringer rider Wade Newsom, who created a visual poem titled “Participate” with artist Jeremy Collins. Event organizers also pointed to a film, “The Bus: A Journey Up North,” by Joey Schusler as an example of the type of film they want to showcase. It’s a 10-minute, 20-second film about a group of friends converting a recycled bus to run on recycled fuel.

Newsom and Schusler will both be on hand for the event.

Organizers ask the public to bring lawn chairs, blankets or sleeping bags.
