— All That Jazz is celebrating its second year under the ownership of Kim Haggarty this weekend, according to a news release. The store has been in the Yampa Valley since 1977, the release states.

The focus of All That Jazz has expanded beyond music, according to the release, to include a little bit of everything, citing an expanded selection of women’s clothing and accessories and a renewed focus on new vinyl sales.

In honor of the anniversary, the store is hosting a locals appreciation sale all weekend, according to the release.

“All That Jazz has evolved from a very casual clothing shop to a fashion forward, affordable option in our town,” Haggarty said in the release. “You no longer have to drive out of town or shop online to find reasonable prices on clothing in Steamboat.”

Point6 sponsors backcountry film festival

Steamboat wool socks company Point6 is sponsoring the Winter Wildland Alliance Backcountry Film Festival, according to a news release.

Point6 will provide socks as prizes for attendees at each of the film tour’s screenings.

According to the festival’s website, a tour date for Steamboat has yet to be scheduled.

The festival was started in 2004 to highlight the efforts of the Winter Wildland Alliance and promote winter landscapes for human-powered users, the release states.

After starting Friday in Boise, Idaho, the festival will tour 100 locations across the globe, the release states, and funds raised will remain in local communities to support like-minded activities and education.

"Backcountry users demand a lot from their gear, and that pushes us to create socks that help them do what they enjoy," states Peter Duke, CEO for Point6. "We’re happy to be able to give back to the core sports that inspire our product development, and it’s great to get a bunch of people together and get excited for the upcoming season."
