Sage grouse public meetings for Craig, Walden rescheduled

— Public meetings about the draft resource management plan and environmental impact statement for greater sage grouse in Northwest Colorado have been rescheduled. The meetings in Craig and Walden were canceled because of the government shutdown. The plan is a joint effort from The Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.

The meeting in Craig is set for 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at Memorial Hospital, 750 Hospital Loop. The Walden meeting will be 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Wattenburg Community Center, 682 Jackson County Road 42.

The BLM manages 46 percent of the greater sage grouse habitat in Colorado, and the plan, if adopted, would not bind private lands.
