Steamboat Springs Residents are invited to meet the five finalists chosen to interview for the job of police chief in Hayden.

The town is hosting a community reception from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Hayden Town Hall. All five of the candidates are expected to attend. Hayden Finance Manager Sharon Johnson said the candidates will be interviewed individually by town officials Oct. 26. Those interviews will be held in private.
The town hired a search firm to identify candidates.
The candidates include Mark Berkley, who has been the officer in charge since Gordon Booco was fired for undisclosed reasons in July. Berkley has worked in law enforcement for nine years. Before coming to Hayden, Berkley worked in Fort Morgan, Lochbuie and Summit County.
Candidate Robert Glenny is the executive sergeant at the Ferguson Township Police Department in Pennsylvania, and he has been in law enforcement for 25 years. He has served numerous roles, including patrol officer, training officer, patrol sergeant and traffic enforcement coordinator.
Stan Penrod has 12 years of law enforcement experience and is a patrol sergeant at the Syracuse City Police Department in Utah. He holds a master's degree in criminal justice from Columbia Southern University.
Randall Thomas recently retired after working for 26 years at the Colorado Springs Police Department. During his career he served as a patrol officer, detective, detective sergeant, patrol sergeant and gang unit sergeant. He also served on the Simla Town Board and was a school board member.
Retired police officer Greg Tuliszewski has 20 years of experience and was most recently the commander at the Lone Tree Police Department. He also worked at the police departments in Erie and Manitou Springs.
