Steamboat Springs Three nonprofit organizations that serve Routt County were awarded grants from The Colorado Trust as a part of Rural Philanthropy Days.
The Community Agricultural Alliance, Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide and Rocky Mountain Youth Corps each will receive $5,000, according to a news release.
"We know that good health depends on more than medical care," Dr. Ned Calonge, president and CEO of The Colorado Trust, said in a news release. "It is affected by where we live, the education we receive, the work we do and the wages we earn. Growing up in La Junta, I understand the challenges rural Coloradans face. Participating in Rural Philanthropy Days, we are able to partner with communities to advance opportunities for all Coloradans to be healthy."
Rural Philanthropy Days is a three-day, biannual event that was started in 1991 by the Community Resource Center and the Anschutz Family Foundation, which connects nonprofit organizations with funding sources, according to the release.
The release states that The Colorado Trust is a health foundation dedicated to achieving health equity.
