Steamboat Springs Police, fire and ambulance calls
1:42 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue. Bouncers said there was a man trying to fight another guy. Officers were able to escort the man outside and issued the man a summons for disorderly conduct.
2:23 a.m. Officers responded to a suspicious incident in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue. Two men were beating a car with baseball bats. Officers contacted them and one of the guys proved it was his car. The man said they were going to scrap the car the next day. Officers asked them to stop.
10:50 a.m. Officers responded to a report of shoplifting in the 1800 block of Central Park Drive. A man stole $24.29 worth of merchandise. He told officers he had a job interview and needed a tooth brush. He was given a citation.
11:46 a.m.Officers responded to a report of theft in the 800 block of Yampa Street. A man reported needing to report his daughter’s cell phone stolen for insurance reasons. Officers took a report.
2:07 p.m. Officers responded to a drug violation in the 1300 block of Dream Island Plaza. A mother was worried her 18-year-old daughter was being given drugs by a drug dealer. Officers took a report.
5:04 p.m. Officers responded to a motor vehicle injury at Eighth and Lincoln. A man was turning onto Lincoln Avenue and hit a person. The person was taken to the hospital and later released. The man was issued a citation for careless driving causing injury.
5:20 p.m. Officers responded to a report of a drug violation in the 1900 block of Bridge Lane. Homeowners from Florida were trying to sell their unit, and when the real estate agent went to show the property, they found the people living there were growing marijuana. The tenants had their medical marijuana card and were allowed to grow. The owners were told it wasn't a criminal matter and that they would have to evict the tenants.
