Town Challenge Mountain Bike Race Series opens Wednesday in Steamboat Springs

2013 Town Challenge Mountain Bike Race Series schedule

— The Steamboat Springs Town Challenge Mountain Bike Series begins Wednesday.

The seven-race series opens with the Howlin' Howelsen cross-country. The race begins at 5:25 p.m. with children’s races. From there, the pro and open division begins at 6 p.m. with other divisions to follow.

The pro/open, expert, singlespeed, sport classes and youths ages 16 to 18 will cover 9.8 miles across Emerald Mountain.

Prerace registration is $25 for adults and $10 for those 17 and younger. Day-of cost is $35 for adults and $15 for those 17 and younger.

Racers still can purchase a season pass for $150 for adults and $60 for riders 17 and younger. Also available this year is a three-race pack for $70.
