Police, fire and ambulance calls

8:27 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bear that got into a Subaru after opening the unlocked car door in the 1800 block of Hunters Court. The bear defecated in the Subaru and chewed through a container of motor oil. According to police, some bears know how to open car doors.

10:27 a.m. North Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who had injured his or her foot in an accident involving a forklift at Steamboat Lake State Park.

11:53 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a car mirror that had been hit at Lincoln Avenue and Fourth Street.

12:34 p.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of fraud in the 23800 block of Tobiano Trail near Oak Creek.

12:39 p.m. Officers were called to help a person who had questions about how to obtain a federal firearms license.

2:16 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a bear that got into a car in the 2800 block of Alpenglow Way.

2:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man exposing himself on Walton Pond Circle. A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of indecent exposure.

3:13 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who wanted to complain about a car in the 2100 block of Curve Court. The car was gone when officers arrived.

3:20 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a juvenile who ran away from Steamboat Springs High School.

3:24 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a car that hit a car mirror and then drove away in the 1100 block of Lincoln Avenue. The driver was found and given a ticket.

4:19 p.m. Officers were called to a report of animals going through a neighbor’s trash in the 2600 block of Anthony Circle. The neighbor was given a warning.
