Longtime Steamboat resident Scott Blair diagnosed with cancer

Friends and family of longtime Steamboat Springs resident Scott Blair have established a website and a benefit fund to provide updates and support. Blair, a physical therapist at SportsMed at Yampa Valley Medical Center, suffered a seizure while skinning up Mount Werner on May 5. Subsequent medical evaluations revealed a brain tumor, and Blair and his wife will travel to Houston this week to seek surgical consult and to develop a treatment plan, according to a news release emailed Monday.

Friends and family can stay updated on Blair’s health through the website www.mylifeline.org/scottblair. The Scott Blair Benefit Fund has been established at Alpine Bank to help the family with expenses not covered by insurance. Donations can be made by visiting the Steamboat Springs branch of Alpine Bank. A PayPal donation link will be added to Blair’s website soon.

The family has requested that all messages of support be posted through the website. Any additional inquiries should be directed to Gardner Flanigan at 970-846-8054 or milandgard@gmail.com, Kristen Hager at 970-819-2428 or kihager@hotmail.com, or Ted Morton at 970-846-2381 or ted.morton@yvmc.org.
