— The third-seeded Cheyenne Mountain and sixth-seeded Steamboat Springs boys lacrosse teams meet at 7 p.m. Friday at Trailblazer Stadium in Lakewood in the quarterfinals of the Class 4A state playoffs.

The two teams are very familiar with each other, having played in early April. Steamboat, on the road, got arguably its biggest win of the season that day, coming away with a 9-7 victory.

Steamboat, coming off of a 13-5 opening-round win against Windsor, will leave at 1 p.m. Friday.

The winner of the game will play Wednesday at Legacy Stadium against the winner of Friday’s Ponderosa-Air Academy game. Second-seeded Air Academy and 10th-seeded Ponderosa play at 5 p.m. Friday at Trailblazer Stadium.

On the other side of the bracket, top-seeded Wheat Ridge plays No. 8 Thompson Valley, and No. 5 Valor Christian and No. 4 Aspen meet up.
