Drug Take Back Day in Steamboat a success

— Steamboat Springs officials say Drug Take Back Day once again was a success.

Steamboat residents brought in 66.5 pounds of unused drugs during the event April 27. The event was done in cooperation with the Steamboat Springs Police Department, Grand Futures Prevention Coalition and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The drugs collected during the event will be destroyed safely.

By collecting the drugs, officials are trying to keep them from getting into the hands of people who might abuse them.
