Steamboat boys lacrosse

4 p.m. Thursday: Steamboat (4-1) vs. Bountiful, Utah

11 a.m. Saturday: Steamboat at Rock Canyon (3-1)

The Sailors seem to have bounced back after an early season loss to Aspen. Steamboat won’t know much about Bountiful but has waged battles with Rock Canyon for years. Steamboat is 0-4 against the Front Range team since 2010, including a first-round playoff loss. The game should be a good barometer of where this Steamboat team is.

6 p.m. Thursday: Steamboat (2-1) at Eagle Valley (2-4)

11 a.m. Saturday: Steamboat vs. Battle Mountain (3-0-1)

It’s already separation week in the Western Slope League. Steamboat has been on the short end of weather already this season, having to deal with multiple postponements. The Sailors, though, should get a pair of good tests this weekend. That includes one of the best rivalries on the Western Slope with Battle Mountain. That game, despite being in late March, should have a postseason feel.

2 p.m. Friday: Steamboat (2-4) vs. Rampart (1-2)

3:30 p.m. Saturday: Steamboat vs. Eagle Valley (0-4)

Steamboat should have a chance to get two more wins throughout the weekend. The team has been markedly better already this year, with a real opportunity to move up in the league standings and potentially walk out of the weekend with a winning record. Steamboat already has beaten Eagle Valley.

4 p.m. Friday: Steamboat at Poudre

10 a.m. Saturday: Steamboat at Fossil Ridge

2 p.m. Saturday: Steamboat at Thompson Valley

After a long layoff, Steamboat finally returns to action. The team will get plenty of play this weekend with three matches. The team still is in the early part of the season, but it starts to ramp up beginning in April.

Steamboat boys baseball

11 a.m. Saturday: Steamboat (1-3) doubleheader vs. Eagle Valley (3-3) in Craig

Steamboat has lost its past three contests but by a combined four runs. In two of those games, Steamboat went into extra innings. It’s become clear the Sailors need to learn to finish games. Weather and field dependent, the Sailors should have a good opportunity to get a pair of wins this weekend.

Steamboat track and field

10 a.m. Saturday: Steamboat at at Broomfield Invitational

At this point, a dry track and warm weather are the track and field team's friends. The Sailors should get that this weekend in Broomfield, where temperatures are expected to be in the 60s. Competing in Grand Junction last weekend, the team got a standout performance from Meg O’Connell in the 3,200- and 1,600-meter runs.

Soroco track and field

10 a.m. Saturday: Soroco at Cedaredge

The Rams, also in search of dry roads and sunny skies, will get a look at a good portion of its region this weekend.
