College hosting ‘Computing and the Law’ presentation
Colorado Mountain College hosts a free presentation “Computing & the Law” with C.L. Lindsey at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Steamboat Springs Community Center. The presentation will include a discussion about sexting laws and recent cases and legislation; the legal principles and difficulties behind cyber-bullying; federal, state, local and school rules and laws against cyber-harassment and cyber-stalking; and steps to take if you’re being bullied online. The presentation is free and open to the public.
New after-school programs slated to begin next month
Emerald Mountain School has launched a new selection of after-school programs for kindergarteners through eighth-graders. The programs are open to all children, not just EMS students. Each program meets from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. for five weeks and costs $100. The four programs, which begin the week before spring break, are Jiu Jitsu, Mindful Yoga, Beginning Knitting, and Math: When Will I Use It?

Medical center board seeks a new volunteer member
The South Routt Medical Center Health Service District board of directors has an opening for a board member. The South Routt Medical Center is a special district governed by Title 32 of the Colorado Revised Statutes. The medical center is experiencing significant growth with many future projects pending. Interested board members should be registered electors of the district, willing to commit to fulfill a term that ends in May 2014, and be able to attend at least one meeting a month. Cultural integration group searching for volunteers
