Craig Congressman Scott Tipton, R-Cortez, will be in Steamboat Springs on Tuesday to thank voters for their support during the November general election.
The three-stop Steamboat tour begins with a Routt County Board of Commissioners meeting from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Routt County Courthouse, 522 Lincoln Ave.
Beginning at 11:45 a.m., Tipton will visit with constituents having lunch at the Steamboat Springs Community Center, 1605 Lincoln Ave., before sitting down at 4 p.m. with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club staff and students at 845 Howelsen Parkway.
“One of the great benefits of representing the 3rd Congressional District is getting the opportunity to visit Northwestern Colorado, one of the most beautiful spots in the state,” Tipton said in a statement. “I certainly am looking forward to visiting with constituents in Steamboat and listening to the issues that are on their minds, as well as sharing an update on what’s happening in Washington.”
Tipton’s meetings Tuesday will kickstart a two-day visit to the Yampa Valley.
On Wednesday, the congressman will travel to Craig to host similar gatherings beginning at 8 a.m. at Cool Water Grille, 337 W. Victory Way.
Tipton also will meet with the Moffat County Commission to discuss regional policy issues from noon to 1 p.m. in the downstairs conference room at the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way.
Tipton will round out his Craig visit by meeting with Bureau of Land Management Hot Shot firefighters to discuss wildfire mitigation efforts and forest health from 2 to 3 p.m. at the Little Snake Field Office, 455 Emerson St.
