6 dancers earn scholarships at annual JUMP Dance Convention
Saturday, March 9, 2013
Steamboat Springs Marty St. Pierre and Maggie McElhiney also earned dance scholarships at last weekend’s JUMP Dance Convention in Denver along with four of their classmates who traveled there with Steamboat’s Elevation Dance Studio.
St. Pierre earned his scholarship in hip-hop, and McElhiney earned a Studio Scholarship. The Studio Scholarship sponsors one dancer from each studio to return to another JUMP workshop, and the class scholarships in various styles, like St. Pierre’s, also invites him to return to a future dance intensive for free.
Elevation brought 18 students to the convention, attending for the second year in a row.
T.J. Williams, Olivia Satkiewicz, Oliver Cardillo and Liam Catterson also earned scholarships during the event.
