Yampa man suspected of felony assault

Steamboat Springs A 31-year-old Yampa man was arrested on suspicion of felony second-degree assault Thursday stemming from an incident near Yampa.
David C. Redmond was being held without a set bond until he can see a judge Friday.
Routt County Undersheriff Ray Birch said the 40-year-old victim from Yampa reported the assault at about 11:50 p.m. Wednesday. The incident occurred at 28000 Routt County Road 7.
Birch said the victim reported being shoved and kicked by Redmond. It is not suspected a weapon was used.
"It was essentially a fight between two individuals," Birch said.
The victim was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center with a cut to his finger and later was released.
