Steamboat Springs snowboarders land atop NorAm podium in New York

Steamboat Springs The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club snowboard team picked five podiums this past week at a NorAm event in Holiday Valley, N.Y.
Maggie Carrigan was second in the parallel slalom and giant slalom events. Converse Fields was third in the parallel slalom and second in the parallel giant slalom. Mike Trapp was third in the parallel giant slalom.
The snowboard cross team also had multiple members qualify for the finals Saturday at the Canyons in Utah.
Mick Dierdorff was the top qualifier in ninth. Ryan Roemer was 21st, Cole Schreiber was 26th and Freddy McCarthy was 28th.
