— The Haven Assisted Living Center in Hayden will hold its annual fundraiser Saturday.

The facility will hold a barbecue, dance and silent auction from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Haven.

“The facility is 17 years old,” Director Karen Burley said. “This helps with all the things that come with that.”

The event is family friendly and will feature children’s events, live music, dancing, a barbecue dinner, and a beer and wine garden.

Tickets are $8 for students, $25 for couples and $40 for a family, and children 5 and younger are free.

The Haven assists seniors, and Burley said the fundraiser helps keep costs down.

“Our fees remain in the median,” she said. “We’re not the lowest, and we’re not the highest. We want to make sure anyone, regardless of their income, can age and not have to move away from here.”

The event serves as the Haven’s lone fundraiser for the year. Last year, the fundraiser netted more than $10,000

The proceeds helped with new carpet, windows and roof repairs.

There are 10 silent auction items available. The silent auction will end at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Included in the silent auction items are: a guided fishing trip for one or two people guided by Steve Henderson, one-year family membership to Trapper Health Club in Craig, one-year couple's membership at Trapper Health Club, one-year adult membership at Old Town Hot Springs in Steamboat Springs, 18 holes of golf for four with two carts at Yampa Valley Golf Course in Craig, private golf lesson with the Yampa Valley Golf Course pro, two dozen homemade cookies per month for one year, a hand-crafted picnic table made by Hayden High School students, two-hour housecleaning certificate and two physical therapy sessions and one acupuncture session at Forever Fit.

Burley said the goal this year is to raise $15,000 to continue helping offset the maintenance costs of the facility.
