Jayden Simon, 3, was chosen as Hayden Public Library’s Reader of the Week. Jayden visits the library with his day care group and Julie Redmond. He has a sister, Savanna, 19, and a brother, Dakota, 17. His parents are Caleb and Deb. He loves listening to stories and making crafts at the library.

Jayden was born in Steamboat and has lived in Hayden all his life. His best friends are Chase and Emmie. Jayden would like to be Spider-Man when he grows up.

His favorite color is green, and he likes pizza but he doesn’t have a favorite food. He likes to watch the “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” He enjoys going to the park with his dad. One of his favorite books is “Paddington Bear” by Michael Bond. His dad reads to him every night.

When asked whether he had any advice for other kids about reading, he said, “Read every day!” Jayden was excited to be named Reader of the Week because it meant he could come to the library and play with the trucks and toys during his interview.

The library holds the Reader of the Week contest each summer, and the winner is interviewed for the Steamboat Today; wins a T-shirt, a water bottle and a book; and chooses the food for the weekly Bingo and Cooking program.
