11:35 a.m. So the bear "ducked" the law? Besides harassing wildlife? Isn't that a crime too? Good thing he didn't flip the bird. What a fowl creature.

Good thing the bear "ducked" out before the police arrived! There could have been some serious resisting arrest going on!

Rockies showed some signs of recovering from doldrums yesterday!

Seems our bear has been a problem before. Luckily he got off on a technicality...

He had wandered into several local watering holes, variously and on occasion, consuming the random patron or employee, right there on the spot, in front of God and everybody, bloody mess and all, back in 88-89 I think it was, and nobody minded, bears will be bears -- until he ate Rita.

QUICK!! Dial 9-1-1!!

(Bear goes to jail, but it's the weekend, gotta wait til Monday to see the juudge, just a walk upstairs, back then...)

When his PD cries out What's the charge Judge?? There's no law against bears eating humans!!

Naw, smugly replies Kerry, we got him on DRUGS:

That was a BARBITUATE.

(ta da dum)

But she wasn't really, and that's why he got off.

(sorry for any warped chronology, Kerry, let's call it artistic license.)

Was the bear riding a horse or was that a different incident I am thinking of?

What are you smoking there, Jerry? Got any more of it?

Is this just a delayed slump this year? Has the dive begun? Maybe the Rockies need a team hypnotist:

"Imagine the ball, Troy. It's coming at you. You can see the stitches. It will NOT be a ball. You will NOT walk. You should probably swing at it, lest you get whiffed yet again. Look how many times you've gotten lucky so far this year. You can do it. Maybe if you stayed in the batter's box, rather than walking around looking disgusted between pitches, ('I SHOULDA swung at that one') ('that was outside, dammit') that might help. Your new mantra is SWING, baby, SWING."

Jerry -- Maybe hypnosis works, long-distance? This could be the baseball un-jinxer. Yep, Tulo was swinging the wood tonight. Go Rockies!!

Sorry to revive this dead thread -- but I was ALMOST ready to beg Tulo's forgiveness -- 'til I watched those beauties sail by tonight... wimp.

(mostly kidding -- he made a healthy swing or two...)

Losing 2 of 3 to the Padres! A team they had beat 6 times without a loss this year? What is the ability of this team? Bring back Arizona and San Fran!

Yeah, Tulo's been swinging the lumber again, so I haven't had much to say either. There are enough experts on the important things that you don't need me. I like games where the outcome is not preordained.
