Police, fire and ambulance calls

5:54 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a dead deer near mile marker 130 on U.S. Highway 40. It was removed.

7:16 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a car damaged in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

7:41 a.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of a reckless driver at Routt County Road 14 and Colorado Highway 131.

9:47 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a parking complaint in the 3300 block of Après Ski Way.

10:54 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a motor home parked illegally on Blue Sage Circle. It was parked legally.

10:55 a.m. Routt County Search and Rescue volunteers were called to a report of a man who had injured himself while hiking the Devil’s Causeway trail. It is suspected the man had a stroke and fell down a steep hill. A helicopter took him to a Denver hospital.

12:38 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of cyclists who heard gunshots in the area of Cow Creek on the backside of Emerald Mountain. Deputies could not determine where the shots came from.

1:58 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident at Walton Creek Road and South Lincoln Avenue.

2:02 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious person near the Tennis Center at Steamboat Springs. An 8-year-old girl told her parents that a high school-age boy came up to her and said she was supposed to go home with him. The boy could not be found.

3 p.m. A person came to the police station and turned in a Wheat Ridge Police Department badge found on Downhill Drive.

3:20 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help an injured person at Bald Eagle Lake.

3:45 p.m. Search and Rescue volunteers were called to help a woman who injured her ankle while hiking in the Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area.

4:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury accident in the 1500 block of Woodbridge Court.

4:58 p.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person with an unknown medical issue in the 500 block of Rollingstone Drive.

5:09 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a drunken man who was passed out at a bus stop at Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue. A sober person came and picked the man up.

6:21 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a red Ford Explorer swerving at Hilltop Parkway and South Lincoln Avenue. The driver was contacted and given a warning.

6:26 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of an unattended death in the 200 block of East Main Street in Oak Creek. An 85-year-old woman died at home from natural causes.

6:42 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a car double parked in the first block of Fifth Street. A warning was given, and the car was moved.

7:26 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a dead deer in the 3600 block of Lincoln Avenue.

8:12 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a wallet lost in the Yampa River near Bud Werner Memorial Library.

8:29 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who fell in the 22600 block of Snowbird Trail.

8:45 p.m. Deputies were called to a report of gunshots heard in Elk River Estates.

11:27 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who called police to say “people were being jerks” in the 2800 block of Village Drive. The person then hung up the phone.

11:36 p.m. Officers were called to a report of couple arguing in Dream Island Plaza. A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief related to a door being damaged. He also was arrested on suspicion of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
