— Routt County United Way is making one final fundraising push for 2013. The organization is looking to raise $50,000 for its grants this year and other programs, such as the Holiday Wishes Program and Community Thanksgiving Dinner.

Between the main grants and smaller program-specific awards, Routt County United Way will disburse $349,070 to area organizations, according to Executive Director Kelly Stanford.

The latest efforts have coincided with the organization’s move from downtown to new offices in the First National Bank of the Rockies building off Anglers Drive.

“We were just looking for some more updated office space,” Stanford said.

First National Bank of the Rockies in Moffat County had arranged a similar setup with the United Way organization there, she said.

“The bank was really generous and gracious to offer us the space at a rent that was less than what we were paying before,” Stanford said.

The organization moved into the new office in May and had a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday.

In conjunction with the move, Stanford said, some advertising was done to help close the fundraising gap for the year.

“We’re at, like, 80 percent of our goal for the year,” she said.

In the fall, Routt County United Way switches to its fundraising campaign for 2014.

There’s no discussion of altering grant amounts, but Stanford said raising the additional $50,000 would be better for the organization's ability to provide its programs and grants.
