Steamboat snowboarders pick up big results in Breckenridge

Steamboat Springs snowboarders picked up a pile of top results Saturday and Sunday at an event in Breckenridge. Saturday consisted of a half-pipe competition while a slope-style event followed Sunday.

Ania Budzynski won both competitions in the junior women’s class. Nik Baden was third in the men’s open class of the pipe and fourth in slope-style. Ryan Merritt was 11th on Saturday and eighth on Sunday among the Breaker boys division. Cody Winters was 13th both days in the same class. Blake Moller also rode with the Breaker boys and placed second in the half-pipe. Cody Warble placed fifth in that class in the slope-style.

Brian Glover second in the pipe and fifth in slope-style in the junior men, Hunter Chavarria was third and sixth and Berin Klawiter was fourth and seventh.

Marty Boyd won the slope-style among the Grommet boys while Winston Vaughan was second in the Menehune boys, Billy Winters was seventh and Spencer Vaughan was ninth in the youth men.

Kirby Kelly was fourth in the open women’s class, Quinton Jones was fourth in open men and Savanna Atkins was third in youth women.
