Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skier Vreni Lupear won a FIS slalom race and had a second-place finish at pair of races in Telluride. Her two-run time in the winning race was 1 minute, 39.10 seconds, a whooping 2 seconds ahead of the next competitor, in at 1:42.40.
“That was her first FIS win, so that was a big deal for her,” coach Gene Bridgewater said.
Olivia Rudolph had a seventh-place finish in one race. Sarah Gezon had one ninth and Jili Jennerjahn a 13th.
Nate Bowman had the top guys finish, crossing in eighth place. Jesse Laughlin had a 14th and a 16th while David Kidd was 16th in one race and Devin De Jong was 18th in another.
