Kathy Cain: Help is available
Monday, January 28, 2013
To many Americans, the legalization of abortion 40 years ago this month is cause for protest; an unjust law that needs to be reversed. To others, including President Barack Obama, this law is considered a victory for women’s rights. Amid all the noise surrounding this issue, I can’t help but think of the young girl who finds herself pregnant and doesn’t know what to do. For her, it’s not political; it’s personal, and she needs help.
Here in Routt County, we have a source of help — the Steamboat Springs Pregnancy Resource Center. There is no money to be made at this center, no pressure, no preaching; just a loving, listening ear for a girl or woman who may feel totally alone and confused. All inquiries are confidential and there are many resources available. If you need help and support or know someone who does, please refer them to the Steamboat Springs Pregnancy Resource Center at 970-871-1307.
