The Soroco High School boys basketball team put together a late fourth-quarter charge Saturday, bouncing back from a nine-point deficit to tie Vail Christian. The Rams couldn’t get over that hump, though, as the Saints controlled the final minute of the game, knocking off Soroco, 51-45.
“We were tied with a minute to go. They scored, and we missed, then we had to foul,” Soroco coach Jake Eskridge said. “I was pleased with our fight. We were down in the third quarter, and you probably could have called it, but the kids kept fighting. Next thing you know, we’re right back in it.”
Eskridge said some timely defensive stops helped lift the Rams back into the game.
Ryan Jeep finished with 16 points. Bjorn Carlson had 12, and Matt Regan scored seven.
Soroco is 6-6 on the season.
