Steamboat Springs Soroco finally stubbed its toe Saturday. The Rams lost playing on the road at Hotchkiss, 63-56.
“We played hard but just didn’t score enough points. Our shots weren’t falling,” coach Jake Eskridge said. “It was a tight game the whole way, but we weren’t hitting the shots we’ve been hitting the last few games.”
The loss snaps a five-game winning streak that helped the Rams pull above .500 on Friday night. Soroco now is 5-5.
Ryan Jeep led the way with 16 points. Matt Regan had 13, and Nic Paxton had nine.
Despite the loss, Eskridge said the team had plenty to be proud of.
“Last year, that game would have been a 30-point loss,” he said. “They would have folded. This year, they won’t do that. They’ll keep fighting.”
