Nordic combined team's Taylor Fletcher finishes World Cup in career-best 5th

Steamboat Springs — Get Steamboat Springs’ Taylor Fletcher on cross-country skis and just enjoy.
For the third time this year, Fletcher had the fastest cross-country skiing time in a World Cup, moving up from 28th after the jump Saturday in Seefeld, Austria, to finish a career-best fifth.
Bryan Fletcher was 24th, and Todd Lodwick was 29th.
Germany’s Eric Frenzel got the win. Magnus Moan was second, and Tino Edelmann was third.
“Great day for Tay,” U.S. Nordic combined coach Dave Jarrett said in a U.S. Ski Team news release. He was “fighting for the podium in the final stretch. He was solid on the hill and awesome on the course. He raced smart the whole time, and the fact that he reeled in Mikko (Kokslien) and Magnus (Moan) was awesome. He has more to come, as well.”
Action continues Sunday with another normal hill Gundersen event.
