Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club moguls team cleans up in Telluride

— The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club junior ability and junior freestyle teams picked up top finishes during the weekend at the first Rocky Mountain Qualifier Series mogul competition in Telluride.

In single moguls Saturday, Bridger Boyd was first and Tyler Strnad second in the boys J3 category.

Landon Wendler was second in the boys J4 category, and Jacob Gilbertson was fifth. In the J2 women’s event, Peyton Wendler was first, and Este Wilkinson was third in the women’s J4 event. Kenzie Radway was first in the J5 women’s event.

In dual moguls Sunday, Radway was fourth, and Wilkinson was seventh.

Strnad paced the boys by winning the event. Bryan Gilbertson was sixth.

“This was their first competition of the year where these kids are trying out their new tricks they have been working hard on this season,” coach Andy Radzavich said. “We are very pleased with the enthusiasm and performance put forth by these young athletes, and they all did it with huge smiles on their faces.”
