Steamboat collegiate ski racers fare well Saturday

— A pair of former Steamboat Springs skiers scored high in a collegiate cross-country skiing race at Howelsen Hill on Saturday.

Mary Rose, skiing for the University of Colorado, finished a 15-kilometer course in seventh place, in 47:18.4.

Charlie Von Thaden, meanwhile, was 17th, also skiing for Colorado, crossing on a 20K course in 56:35.8

Rune Malo Oedegaard, of CU, won the men’s race in 53:49.6. Mark Iverson, of Alaska Pacific University, was second in 53:49.7, and Miles Havlick, from the University of Utah, was third in 53:50.4.

Joanne Reid, of CU, won the women’s race in 45:58.1. Marine Dusser, from Alaska-Anchorage, was second in 46:06.7, and Maria Nordstrom, from CU, was third at 46:15.4.
