— It was a big day for Steamboat Springs snowboarders Saturday, and teenager Arielle Gold led the way.

Gold placed fourth in a Grand Prix half-pipe event at Copper Mountain.

Australia’s Torah Bright won the event. Kelly Clark, of the United States, was second, and Queralt Castellet, of Spain, was third.

Steamboat's Maddy Schaffrick missed the eight-rider finals and finished 14th in the 45-athlete field.

Benji Farrow represented Steamboat well on the men’s side, placing seventh. Nathan Johnstone, of Australia, won the event, ahead of the United States’ Luke Mitrani in second and Louie Vito in third.

Fellow Steamboater Matt Ladley ended up 18th.
