Steamboat Springs swimmers impressive in Aurora

— The Old Town Hot Springs Tridents swim team registered top results Monday and Tuesday at the MACS Winter Invite in Aurora.

Parker Kortas was seventh in the 100-yard breaststroke and sixth in the 200 breast in the girls 11-12 division.

Taylor Kortas notched several top-10 finishes in the 15-and-over girls division. She was ninth in the 500 free, eighth in the 100 breast, second in the 400 IM and first in the 200 breast.

Marley Loomis was sixth in the 500 free and 200 breast races in the girls 15-and-over division. Frank Ruppel had another banner meet. In the boys 13-14 division, Ruppel was third in the 50 free and 500 free, second in the 200 free and 100 fly, and won the 100 and 200 back.

Madison Ruppel, in the girls 15-and-over division, registered a ninth-place finish in the 200 free, was eighth in the 500 free and 200 breast, and was sixth in the 200 back.

Samantha Terranova, also in the girls 15-and-over division, was seventh in the 200 IM and 100 back, fifth in the 200 fly, third in the 200 breast and first in the 200 free and 500 free.

The team returns to competition Jan. 19-21 at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.
