Donna Johnson: Thank you to YVEA
Tuesday, January 1, 2013
This is a thank you, a huge one, to the Yampa Valley Electric Association Caring Consumers program.
Caring Consumers recently donated $5,395 to the Craig Lions for purchase of a digital camera with print output for its eye-screening program. This is to replace the outdated and worn Polaroid cameras that use film that is becoming increasingly hard to find.
Caring Consumers donates to local organizations to implement or expand programs that support the community. Funding comes from the Round-Up program, where electric consumers donate the amount rounded up to the next higher dollar on their monthly bills.
You can get your bill rounded up by calling YVEA in Steamboat Springs at 970-879-1160 or in Craig 970-824-6593.
The Craig Lions has been screening the eyes of children ages 6 months to 6 years to find potential eye problems at an age when they easily can be treated. The group screens more than 600 children each year, and this generous grant from Caring Consumers means the Lions can continue this important work. Thank you!
