Steamboat Springs The Soroco boys basketball team gave district No. 2 Meeker a scare Tuesday night before falling, 64-53.
The Rams led 18-12 after one quarter and held a 10-point lead at one point. They were outscored by 10 in the second quarter and fell behind 27-23 at half. Soroco never could keep up in the second half. Meeker used a big third quarter in closing out Soroco’s season.
The Rams finished the season 9-11.
Matt Regan had 13 points, Ryan Jeep had 12 and Bjorn Carlson had 11 points.
“You never like your season to end like that,” first-year Rams coach Jake Eskridge said. “I’m pleased with the effort the last game. I’m pleased with the direction the program is going.”
