Police, fire and ambulance calls

2:29 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers were called to a report of a bus driver who needed help with a drunken man on a bus at the Gondola Transit Center. The man was given a ride and released to a sober person.

7:52 a.m. Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue firefighters were called to help a person with an unknown medical problem in Knoll Parking Lot.

8:28 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a bag lost in the 1700 block of Brome Drive.

11:42 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a Subaru that was tailgating and almost caused a crash at Mount Werner Road and South Lincoln Avenue.

11:56 a.m. Officers were called to a report of a burglary that occurred during Christmastime in the 600 block of Retreat Place. The homeowner heard that someone had tried to break into the home, but nothing was taken.

12:02 p.m. Routt County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a report of an assault at Riverbend Trail and U.S. Highway 40. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault.

1:22 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a pickup that cut off another car in the 700 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

1:49 p.m. Yampa Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was having chest pain in the 21400 block of Third Avenue in Phippsburg.

2:47 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a Subaru that was double parked and blocking in another car behind a restaurant in the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue. The Subaru was moved.

3:27 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a person who had not paid for a hotel room in the 3200 block of South Lincoln Avenue.

4:03 p.m. A found checkbook, wallet, ID card and driver's license were turned in at the police station.

4:13 p.m. Oak Creek Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was having chest pain in the 200 block of South Sharp Avenue.

6:30 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a noninjury crash at Downhill Drive and Lincoln Avenue.

7:51 p.m. Deputies and Colorado State Patrol troopers were called to a report of an accident at Brandon Circle and U.S. 40. A 44-year-old man was heading east on U.S. 40 from Milner when his car collided with a street sign, launched off a snowbank and landed off the road on its roof. The driver was taken to Yampa Valley Medical Center after he complained about back and neck pain and then was arrested on suspicion of careless driving and driving while ability impaired.

7:52 p.m. West Routt Fire Protection District firefighters were called to help a person who was having difficulty breathing in the 6400 block of Routt County Road 29.

9:26 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a Subaru swerving at Sixth Street and Lincoln Avenue.

10:03 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a suspicious incident at Yampa Valley Medical Center. A car belonging to an employee had its lock damaged, but it did not look like anyone got into the car.

10:06 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a man arguing with a bartender after the man got cut off at a bar in the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. The man left.

10:44 p.m. Officers were called to a report of a drunken woman at Walton Creek Road and Village Drive. The 23-year-old woman had a warrant for her arrest for failing to appear in court.

11:25 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to help a diabetic person in the 1800 block of Ski Time Square Drive.

11:59 p.m. Steamboat firefighters were called to a report of a possible structure fire in the first block of Anglers Drive. A water heater had malfunctioned, but there was no fire.
