The Routt County Republicans elected a new slate of officers at its February central committee meeting, according to a news release. Current Chairman Dave Moloney was re-elected. Heather DeVos, Tina Kyprios and Gary Burkholder were elected to serve as vice chairpersons in their respective districts. Lisa Watts will take over as secretary, and B.J. Vale will continue in her role as treasurer.
“I’m excited to see so many women in leadership roles in our local party,” Moloney said in the release.

Workshop about long-term care planning is March 7
Learn about planning for long-term care in the Yampa Valley during a free workshop at 5:30 p.m. March 7 at Library Hall at Bud Werner Memorial Library. Eileen Allen and Laura Cusenbary, of Wells Fargo Advisors, will discuss how to plan for unforeseen, long-term medical events. Lee Dickey, of the Doak Walker Care Center, and Victoria Barron, of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, will discuss the future of long-term care in the Yampa Valley, including Casey’s Pond Senior Living.
Energy roundtable slated for March 6 in Steamboat
The Northwest Colorado Regional Energy Roundtable is from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 6 in Citizens Hall at Centennial Hall, 124 10th St. The meeting aims to explore the relationship between clean energy and a thriving economy.
■ Anna Zawisza, of Alliance for Sustainable Colorado, will discuss the organization’s energy goal and how it ties to work in Routt County as well as updates on energy-related legislation.
■ Alice Laird, of Clean Energy Economy for the Region, will discuss a Garfield County case study about successful strategies and overcoming barriers.
■ Sarah Jones, of Yampa Valley Sustainability Council, will discuss the economic benefits of energy efficiency and renewable energy as well as how an energy plan for Routt County will enhance the local economy.

Stagecoach State Park has snowshoe rentals for free
Free snowshoe rentals are available to be used at Stagecoach State Park throughout winter. Call the park office at 970-736-2436 to reserve snowshoes in adult and children sizes.
