Steamboat Springs The Hayden High School girls basketball team was at the top of its game Friday night, and the Tigers picked up their fourth win of the season.
Hayden beat Plateau Valley on the road, 39-25.
“We played an all-around good game,” coach Michelle Wilkie said. “We were a little slow getting started, but we finished strong, and that’s what counted. The kids played really well.”
Olivia Zehner scored 15 points to lead the squad. Kara Cozzens had 12 points and 13 rebounds. Emma Johnson had five points and seven rebounds.
Hayden was tied, 12-12, after one quarter but led by three at the half and four after three quarters before breaking things open in the fourth.
“It was pretty awesome,” Wilkie said.
