Steamboat Springs The Hayden High School boys basketball team had no trouble with Plateau Valley on Friday night, winning on the road, 74-47.
The Tigers got 19 points from Jorge Valdez, 16 from Aaron Cramer and another 11 from Isaac Bridges as they improved to 15-2 and tightened their grip on the Western Slope League.
“We had a slow first quarter. Defensively, we just weren’t moving quite as well, and we missed some easy shots,” coach Mike Luppes said. “We started to press at the beginning of the second quarter, and our intensity level moved up, and we played a pretty good ballgame after that.”
Cramer helped jump-start the team, scoring 14 of his points in the first half.
Hayden plays at home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against De Beque.
