Steamboat snowboarder Arielle Gold 11th in Sochi, Russia

Steamboat Springs Steamboat Springs snowboarder Arielle Gold finished 11th on Thursday in the half-pipe finals at the Sochi World Cup Olympic test event.
Gold, who had been on a torrid run, qualified in first but couldn’t put together runs in the finals.
American Kelly Clark won the event. Maddy Schaffrick couldn’t get out of qualifications, finishing 34th.
On the men’s side, Benji Farrow also qualified for the finals but struggled during his runs, eventually finishing 12th.
