Steamboat briefs: Hospital to host event about SAD on Thursday

As part of its “Taking Care of Me” series of health-related presentations, Yampa Valley Medical Center hosts a discussion about Seasonal Affective Disorder at 11:45 a.m. Thursday. The presentation will be led by licensed clinical psychologist Tom Traynor, who will discuss the relationship between light and SAD. Attendees will learn about how the brain responds to lower light levels, especially in winter, and what to do if they suspect they suffer from SAD. Hayden church sponsoring Lenten Bible study Fridays

The Hayden Congregational United Church of Christ is sponsoring a Lenten Bible study called “Forty Days to a Closer Walk With God.” The program is at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m. Fridays for six weeks, beginning Feb. 15. All are welcome. Copies of the book cost $13.58. Call 970-276-3510 for more information.
