Steamboat Springs skier wins NorAm event

Steamboat Springs Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club skier Sophia Schwartz won the opening freestyle NorAm mogul competition Saturday in Telluride.
Schwartz, who battled through knee injuries the past three winters, earned her first win on the NorAm tour.
Lane Stoltzner was sixth, Avital Shimko was 11th and Jaelin Kauf was 22nd.
Ryan Dyer led the men, finishing seventh.
George DeGrandis was 37th and Brad Hoefer was 49th.
The event continues Sunday with dual moguls.
