Jake Miller, basketball
Steamboat Springs 2012 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, freshman at Nebraska Wesleyan University
Miller scored 12 points and had seven rebounds for the Prairie Wolves junior varsity team. The team lost, 62-56, to Concordia.
Aubree Haskins, track and field
2012 graduate of Hayden High School, freshman at Montana State University
Haskins competed in the MSU Open indoor meet Jan. 25. She finished sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 40 feet, 4 inches. She also was 10th in the shot put with a throw of 34-05.
Holli Salazar, track and field
2009 graduate of Hayden High School, senior at CSU-Pueblo
Salazar had a season-best throw of 51 feet, 11.75 inches Saturday at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. Salazar finished ninth. The Thunder Wolves next compete Friday and Saturday at the Colorado School of Mines Twilight meet in Golden.
Jamey Swiggart, tennis
2012 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, freshman at Idaho State
Swiggart won, 7-5, 7-5, at No. 4 singles against rival Weber State on Jan. 20. Swiggart leads the team in singles and doubles wins this year. Swiggart also has a singles win against the University of Utah and a doubles win against Utah State University. The team next competes Feb. 16 at home against Portland State University.
Charlie Von Thaden, cross-country skiing
2012 graduate of The Lowell Whiteman School, freshman at University of Colorado
Von Thaden was 22nd in a 5-kilometer classic freestyle event Friday at the New Mexico Invitational. The following day, he was 19th in a 10-kilometer freestyle skate race.
Mike Vandahl, basketball
2008 graduate of Steamboat Springs High School, senior at Western State Colorado University
Vandahl had two points in 18 minutes against Colorado Christian on Friday in an 83-60 loss. The following night, he 12 points and four rebounds in a 94-85 loss to Colorado School of Mines. Western is reeling. The team is 7-12 overall and has lost its past seven.
Luci Franklin, swimming
2012 graduate of The Lowell Whiteman School, freshman at Saint Michael’s College
Franklin helped the two Saint Michael’s relay teams to top-10 finishes at the Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Southern Connecticut State University during the weekend. Franklin finished eighth in the 200 medley relay and eighth in the 800 freestyle relay.
