Steamboat Springs The Soroco High School boys basketball team struggled Saturday in a 53-27 loss at Rangely.
The Rams started off well, leading by four after one quarter. But Soroco couldn’t find the basket in the second quarter, getting outscored 13-2.
“It’s bad coaching,” Rams coach Jake Eskridge said. “I didn’t have them prepared enough this week.”
The Rams, who lost to Meeker on Friday, struggled on offense all weekend. Eskridge said it was due in part to the opposing defenses but mostly was the result of simply missing shots.
“We just missed way too many easy baskets,” he said.
Ryan Jeep led the Rams with nine points. Matt Regan had six.
The Rams (6-8) resume play at 7 p.m. Friday at home against North Park.
