Steamboat Springs A night after playing well in defeat, nothing went well Saturday for the Hayden High School girls basketball team, which lost at Meeker, 82-19.
“We did not play well,” Tigers coach Michelle Wilkie said. “It was slow defense and slow offense. We didn’t rebound nearly as well as last night, and we couldn’t hit a shot.”
Hayden played well Friday in a 49-35 loss to Rangely, but couldn’t duplicate the effort Saturday.
Meeker, ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, did just about whatever it wanted against Hayden.
Savannah Williams led the Tigers with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Hayden (2-12) next plays at 7 p.m. Friday at home against West Grand.
