Steamboat Springs hockey team beaten by Regis

— The Steamboat Springs High School hockey team lost 7-0 to Regis on Friday.

Regis dominated the first two periods of play, scoring three goals in each. The team added a late third-period goal for the final result.

Steamboat was outshot 25-23 and played a pair of goalies.

Jesse Draper got the start but gave up six goals on 16 shots before being replaced with Trent Trask. Trask gave up the late goal.

The loss drops Steamboat to 10th place in the Foothills Conference and currently out of the playoff picture.

The Sailors’ up-and-down season continues. After winning three straight, Steamboat has lost its last three. The Sailors (6-8-1) play at 6:15 p.m. Saturday at Dakota Ridge.
