Steamboat briefs: Stars at Night tickets must be purchased by Thursday

The Stars at Night fundraising gala, “100 Years of Going for the Gold,” on Monday will be a celebration of the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club’s 100th year. The event will be held at The Steamboat Grand beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $150 each and can be purchased online at www.sswscfoundation.org or at Christy Sports or the Winter Sports Club office.

All proceeds from the gala benefit the SSWSC Foundation, an endowment created as a permanent fund that provides long-term financial support, stability and opportunity for all SSWSC children, athletes and coaches.

Art and Soul of Hospice show ends Thursday at Depot

The Art and Soul of Hospice, an art show to benefit Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association’s Hospice and Palliative Care Program, remains at the Depot Art Center until Thursday. All pieces are for sale and have been donated by talented local artists. The Depot is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or artwork can be viewed in an online gallery at www.nwcovna.org/artshow.php. Howelsen Hill Ski Area has special holiday schedule

The Howelsen Hill Ski Area special holiday operating hours are as follows: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday; closed Monday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 2; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Jan. 3. Normal operating hours will resume Jan. 4.

Routt County United Way grant funding cycle opens

Qualified human service agencies and nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply for the Routt County United Way funding cycle.

Routt County United Way provides an effort to anticipate the health and human service needs of the community and to raise and allocate financial resources to help meet these needs through member agencies.

Kiwanis looking for new service club members

Steamboat Springs’ Kiwanis club is looking for new members who would be interested in providing service to the community as well as attending weekly meetings Tuesdays at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.
