Steamboat Springs A 21-year-old Steamboat Springs man who police said approached several underage teenage girls and asked them for sex in exchange for money in July has been arrested for violating probation.
According to a document filed with the Routt County Court, Tyler O. Davis violated several terms of his probation. Probation officer Linda Dunlop wrote that Davis failed to report to the probation department and failed to let the probation department know where he was living. Davis also never registered as a sex offender.
Davis was sentenced Aug. 30. As part of a plea agreement, Davis pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment for following a person. He previously had been charged with two counts of criminal attempt to commit inducement of a child for prostitution, a Class 4 felony.
Davis was ordered to register as a sex offender for five years.
Davis remained in custody Tuesday, and his bond had been set at $1,500. He is due back in court at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
