Bob Enever: All city parks at risk

Every citizen who walks in, uses or enjoys viewing any one of our city parks should be interested in the proposal to site a police station with 3 acres of asphalt in Rita Valentine Park. If we permit this to happen, all city parks will be at risk every time a City Council member or city manager come looking for free land to build their latest project on. We citizens need protection from this harassment and from the continual need to defend our parks. We, the people, own the city parks, and we will not permit them to be converted to other uses without a vote of all the people. We need more parks, not less.
