Police, fire and ambulance calls

12:17 a.m. Steamboat Springs Police Department officers responded to a suspicious incident in the 2200 block of Village Inn Court. A person called and reported being harassed. Officers took a report.

1:04 a.m. Officers responded to a suspicious incident at Ninth Street and Lincoln Avenue. A man was riding bike erratically. Police contacted the man and told him he needed to go home.

1:37 a.m. Officers responded to a suspicious incident on Walton Creek Road. A person was riding their bike home when two people threw beer bottles from a porch at the rider. Everybody was contacted and no one was arrested.

3:07 a.m. Officers responded to a drunken pedestrian on Mount Werner Road. A guy was walking down the middle of U.S. Highway 40 without shoes. Officers were unable to locate the man.

3:55 a.m. Officers responded to a suspicious person in the 2000 block of Walton Creek Road. They encountered an unresponsive 21-year-old. The person was taken to the hospital and then to detox.

7:44 a.m. Officers responded to a suspicious incident in the 2000 block of Walton Creek Road. Two guys reportedly were driving around drunk in a green pickup. A person called in and said the pickup had purposely ran over a porcupine and threw it into a parking lot. The pickup wasn’t located.

10:24 a.m. Officers responded to a report of theft at Seventh and Yampa streets. A lady reported her vest and shawl had been stolen. The items haven’t been recovered.

10:29 a.m. Officers responded to a report of theft in the 3100 block of Chinook Lane. A car was broken into and a iPod was taken.

11:27 a.m. Officers responded to a report of theft in the 3100 block of Chinook Lane. A car was broken into and $2 was stolen.

11:28 p.m. Officers responded to a noise complaint in the 2900 block of West Acres Drive. One of the trailers had loud music and yelling. Officers made contact and told them to be quiet.

7:44 a.m. - why would anyone deliberately run over a porcupine? A few winters ago, I stopped to help a neighbor who had inadvertently hit one in her Outback. It got wedged up in between the wheel & the wheelwell. What a gawd awful mess, and no little damage was done to the car & tire.
