Business Plan Competition entries are due by Sept. 16

The Yampa Valley Entrepreneurship Center again is hosting a Business Plan Competition. In its second year, the program encourages well-written, comprehensive business plans to help solicit funding from investors or lenders and promote the vision of the business to partners, key employees and customers, according to a news release.

Free business plan development seminars will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. May 2 and July 18 at the Entrepreneurship Center.

The city of Steamboat Springs is offering $10,000 for the creators of the winning business plan and $5,000 to the second-place plan. The winner also will receive three months of office space in the Entrepreneurship Center as well as other business education opportunities.

Plans are due by Sept. 16 to Randy Rudasics before they are presented in early October to a panel of judges including Yampa Valley SCORE business counselors and a regional business consultant. Guidelines, rules and judging criteria are available at or by calling 970-870-4491.
